A law firm in Fresno, CA is seeking a Senior Immigration Attorney to join their team. Reporting to the Managing Immigration Attorney, this role involves managing a caseload, engaging with clients, and collaborating with a dedicated team of attorneys and legal assistants. The ideal candidate will have 5-8 years of experience in immigration law and a strong track record of advancing legal cases.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Report to the Managing Immigration Attorney while managing a diverse caseload of immigration matters.
  • Explain complex immigration concepts and present strategic solutions tailored to individual client needs.
  • Represent both non-detained and detained individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and the Board of Immigration Appeals.
  • Handle and oversee a workload of cases, ensuring timely and effective case management.
  • Conduct intakes with detained individuals at centers, gathering essential information for case development.
  • Prepare and file various immigration applications, including removal defense and family-based immigration petitions.
  • Review and adjust immigration applications and packets to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community-based organizations to address changes in immigration law.
  • Meet with potential clients for strategic consultations, determining the best legal strategies for their cases.
  • Develop legal strategies and prepare clients and witnesses for court proceedings and USCIS testimony.
  • Provide comprehensive legal analysis to identify possible case benefits and prepare legal briefs for diverse immigration cases.
  • Maintain organized case files and ensure all documentation is up-to-date and accurate.

Requirements:

  • 5-8 years of experience in Immigration Law.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
  • Proven ability to manage a caseload effectively and advance legal cases.
  • Extensive experience with Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian cases, EOIR, Detained cases, Citizenship, and other USCIS applications.
  • Experience with case management software is preferred.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in California.

Skills:

  • Deep understanding of immigration law and related procedures.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle complex cases and prioritize tasks efficiently.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Professionalism with a client-focused approach.
  • Proficiency with case management software is a plus.
