Litigation Attorney

Job Overview:
A reputable litigation firm located in Tustin, CA is seeking a qualified Litigation Attorney to join its team. This role involves managing a diverse caseload in civil litigation, focusing primarily on defense with some plaintiff work. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and possess strong analytical and communication skills.

Location:

• Tustin, California

Duties:

• Manage a heavy caseload, including client communication, settlement negotiations, and law and motion practice.
• Conduct routine travel around California to appear in court and handle jury trials.
• Analyze litigation files, conduct legal research, and prepare responsive pleadings.
• Propound and respond to discovery, and effectively determine which cases to settle or take to trial.
• Communicate legal strategies to clients and collaborate with senior staff.
• Employ excellent case management and time management skills to resolve cases efficiently.
• Maintain attention to detail and meet deadlines.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 4 years of experience in civil litigation; preferably 7 or more years.
• Ability to confidently take and defend depositions, including expert and PMK depositions.
• Prior jury trial experience is highly desirable.
• Flexibility for court appearances in civil litigation and family law.
• Strong experience in motion practice and trial preparation.
• Excellent writing and analytical skills.
• Experience in breach of contract, employment law, real estate law, or construction defect is highly desirable.
• Active member of the California State Bar in good standing with no disciplinary record.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-approved law school.

Certifications:

• Active California State Bar license.

Skills:

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Effective case management and time management abilities.
• Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of the court systems in Los Angeles, Orange, San Bernardino, Riverside, and San Diego counties is highly desirable.
