Insurance Defense Litigation Attorney

Job Overview:
A well-established law firm is seeking a qualified Insurance Defense Litigation Attorney with 2+ years of experience to join its Baltimore, MD office. This position requires a candidate with a variety of litigation experience, particularly in the defense of personal injury, property damage claims, and other areas of insurance defense. The firm offers a flexible work environment with hybrid work options, and personal laptops are provided for attorneys. The successful candidate will be expected to commute to the office 3 days per week after an initial training period.

Location:

• Baltimore, MD

Duties:

• Handle a high volume of insurance defense litigation cases, including personal injury, products liability, construction litigation, toxic torts defense, premises liability, and transportation law.
• Research complex legal issues and draft pleadings, motions, memoranda, and discovery documents in a timely manner.
• Attend court appearances, client meetings, and depositions.
• Communicate regularly with clients to provide case updates and guidance.
• Work closely with other attorneys and support staff to manage cases.
• Meet deadlines, multitask, and ensure case files are organized and well-documented.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school.
• Admitted to practice law in Maryland.
• Admission to practice law in other jurisdictions such as DC, PA, or VA is a plus.
• 2+ years of experience in insurance defense litigation.
• 4-8 years of experience is preferred.
• Strong academic credentials, excellent research, writing, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage a caseload efficiently.
• Detail-oriented, organized, and self-motivated.
• Experience in complex general liability, professional liability, construction litigation, property damage claims, and the defense of personal injury claims is a plus.

Education:

• Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admission to practice law in Maryland is required.
• Additional admission to practice in DC, VA, or PA is a plus.

Skills:

• Expertise in insurance defense litigation and related areas.
• Ability to handle a high volume of cases and meet deadlines.
