Job Overview: A prestigious law firm is seeking a Workers' Compensation Associate Attorney with 3-10 years of experience to join its team. This role involves defending clients in workers' compensation cases, offering comprehensive legal services through various stages of litigation, from initial claims handling to appeals. Duties:

  • Review and summarize medical records to build strong legal defenses.
  • Draft motions, pleadings, and other legal documents for court proceedings.
  • Represent clients in hearings, trials, mediations, and arbitration.
  • Prepare clients for depositions and handle the deposition process for witnesses and experts.
  • Draft reports, including pre-trial, interim, and appellate reports.
  • Manage discovery, respond to motions, and draft discovery-related legal documents.
  • Regularly attend court appearances to represent clients effectively.
  • Take and defend depositions of fact witnesses and expert witnesses.

Requirements:

  • Licensed to practice law in the State of Georgia.
  • 3-10 years of experience in workers' compensation defense.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for handling complex legal issues.
  • Ability to conduct comprehensive legal research and draft persuasive legal documents.
  • Proficiency in discovery processes, including drafting and responding to motions.
  • Courtroom experience, including attending hearings and handling depositions.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in the Georgia State Bar.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in Georgia.

Skills:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Strong legal drafting skills and experience preparing motions and pleadings.
  • High attention to detail and organizational skills for managing multiple cases.
  • Capable of working independently and within a team setting.
  • Proven ability to advocate effectively in court and manage high-pressure litigation scenarios.
