Job Overview: A law firm seeks an enthusiastic and client-focused Estate & Trusts Associate Attorney to join their fully remote team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about helping clients create comprehensive estate plans without the burden of litigation or tedious drafting. This position comes with full paralegal support, allowing you to focus on advising clients and guiding them through the estate planning process. The role offers a flexible, remote work environment while providing valuable legal services to clients across multiple states.

Duties:

  • Review client questionnaires and prepare for consultations with prospective clients.
  • Meet with prospective clients, provide legal advice, and convert them into new clients.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for new clients, addressing any legal questions throughout the representation.
  • Develop estate planning design sheets to communicate client goals to the paralegal team.
  • Proofread estate planning documents prepared by the paralegal team to ensure accuracy and compliance with applicable laws.
  • Meet with clients to explain estate planning documents, provide asset funding instructions, and answer any related questions.
  • Assist the client’s funding coordinator by addressing any unresolved asset funding questions.

Requirements:

  • Must enjoy interacting with clients and possess strong interpersonal skills.
  • Sales experience is a plus but not required.
  • Prior estate planning experience is a plus but not required; willingness to learn and grow in this field is essential.
  • Ability to explain complex legal concepts in plain language to clients.
  • Strong team player mentality, willing to collaborate with colleagues and paralegals.
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to meet deadlines and manage a calendar effectively.
  • Professional, quiet home office environment, free from distractions.
  • A reliable computer with a front-facing camera and a functional black-and-color printer.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed attorney in the state of Florida (Ohio license is a plus but not required).

Skills:

  • Strong communication skills, particularly in client-facing roles.
  • Ability to simplify complex legal concepts for clients.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
  • Time management and project organization.
  • Technologically proficient, especially in virtual work environments.
