A law firm seeks a skilled Immigration Attorney to join its Phoenix office. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney with 3-5 years of immigration law experience to become part of a dynamic team. As an Associate Immigration Attorney, you will have the chance to manage your caseload, work closely with clients, and collaborate with a talented group of legal professionals. Duties

  • Provide legal counsel to clients on various immigration matters, offering strategic solutions.
  • Represent clients in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and the Board of Immigration Appeals.
  • Manage a caseload of immigration cases, ensuring timely and effective handling of each matter.
  • Conduct client intakes and visits with detained individuals at detention centers.
  • Prepare and submit immigration applications, including family-based petitions and removal defense.
  • Review and refine immigration documents to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement, government agencies, and community organizations on changes and developments in immigration law.
  • Meet with potential clients, assess their immigration needs, and guide the best strategies.
  • Develop case strategies, and prepare clients and witnesses for hearings and USCIS testimony.
  • Conduct legal research and provide clients with insights into potential case outcomes.
  • Draft and file legal briefs for a variety of immigration-related cases.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in immigration law, including family-based petitions, removal defense, humanitarian cases, and USCIS applications.
  • Ability to handle a variety of immigration cases, including detained and non-detained cases.
  • A team player who enjoys strategizing and collaborating with fellow associates.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred but not required.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse clients and colleagues.
  • Proven track record of advancing legal cases and managing a full caseload.
  • Experience with case management software is preferred.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active membership in the State Bar of Arizona (or eligible for admission).

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of immigration law, including removal proceedings, family-based petitions, and humanitarian cases.
  • Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical abilities.
  • Ability to develop and execute legal strategies tailored to each client's unique situation.
  • High-level client interaction skills, including the ability to explain complex legal matters in a clear, understandable way.
  • Proficiency in case management software and other legal tools.
