Job Overview

A law firm is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Mid-Level Personal and Succession Planning Associate Attorney to join their team in Cincinnati, OH. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience in estate planning for high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth families, private trust companies and family offices, business succession planning, charitable giving strategies, and private foundations. This position requires exceptional academic credentials, a strong work ethic, and the ability to communicate effectively and draft precise legal documents. An LL.M. in Taxation is preferred.

Job Description

Duties:

  • Advise clients on estate planning, including drafting wills, trusts, and other legal documents to ensure the effective transfer of wealth.
  • Provide counsel on business succession planning to ensure smooth transitions and continuity for family-owned businesses.
  • Assist clients with the formation and operation of private trust companies and family offices.
  • Develop and implement charitable giving strategies, including establishing and managing private foundations.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support client needs and firm objectives.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to provide comprehensive legal services.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and industry trends.
  • Participate in client meetings, presentations, and negotiations.
  • Foster and maintain strong client relationships through consistent communication and high-quality service.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant legal experience in estate planning, business succession planning, and charitable giving.
  • Outstanding academic credentials, including a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Ohio Bar or eligibility to obtain admission.
  • Demonstrated work experience with high net worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients.
  • Strong work ethic and commitment to delivering exceptional client service.
  • Excellent drafting and communication skills.
  • High level of organization and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Desire to grow and develop as a leader within the firm.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
