Project Finance Lawyer

Job Overview: A law firm in New York City is seeking a skilled Project Finance Lawyer with 5-8 years of experience to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate expertise in drafting and negotiating principal financing documentation, with a focus on project finance transactions.

Duties:

• Draft and negotiate principal financing agreements and related documentation for project finance transactions.
• Conduct legal, due diligence, and review project documentation, identifying critical legal issues and risks.
• Provide legal advice and support to clients on project finance matters, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, counterparties, and regulatory authorities, to facilitate successful project finance transactions.
• Manage and oversee junior legal staff involved in project finance matters.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the New York State Bar or eligibility for admission via waiver.
• 5-8 years of experience practicing law, strongly emphasizing project finance.
• Proven track record in drafting and negotiating complex financing agreements and legal documents.
• Experience conducting legal, due diligence, and reviewing project documentation is preferred.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess legal risks and provide strategic advice.
