Duties:

• Prepare and present cases in trials, arbitrations, and hearings before judges, administrative law judges, and juries.
• Provide strategic, cost-effective counsel to clients, ensuring efficient resolution of smaller disputes while driving larger cases toward trial or settlement.
• Manage all aspects of litigation, including pleadings, discovery, and trial preparation.
• Work collaboratively within a small, cohesive team to ensure cases progress smoothly.
• Advise clients on general business legal matters and guide them on compliance and regulatory issues.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 10+ years of experience in civil litigation.
• Proven ability to independently litigate cases, including trial advocacy and presenting to judges, arbitrators, and juries.
• Familiarity with court rules and civil procedures in Washington State and federal courts.
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively within a small legal team.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active membership in the Washington State Bar Association.

Skills:

• Comprehensive understanding of Washington State and federal court procedures.
• Strong written and oral advocacy skills.
• Proficiency in managing cases from inception to resolution, including trial representation.
• Ability to provide practical, cost-conscious advice to clients on smaller legal matters.
• Familiarity with administrative agencies like WSLCB and OAH is a plus.
