Job Overview: A law firm is seeking a Bankruptcy Attorney to handle consumer Chapter 7, 11, and 13 bankruptcy cases, specifically for secured creditors. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience, a solid understanding of the Bankruptcy Code and Federal Rules of Bankruptcy Procedure. Candidates with less experience but a strong desire to learn are also encouraged to apply. Duties:
Manage routine bankruptcy matters, primarily related to consumer Chapter 7, 11, and 13 cases
Draft and review pleadings and claims associated with bankruptcy matters
Attend scheduled bankruptcy hearings and represent clients in court
Respond to bankruptcy-related inquiries within the firm
Review and monitor client filings to ensure accuracy and compliance
Monitor all electronic bankruptcy filings (ECFs) for updates and actions
Resolve routine bankruptcy issues, such as Motions for Relief, Objections to Confirmation, and Proofs of Claim
Maintain regular communication with clients, opposing counsel, and the Court
Requirements:
2+ years of experience in bankruptcy law or the willingness to learn
In-depth knowledge of bankruptcy laws, including the Bankruptcy Code and Federal Rules of Bankruptcy Procedure
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Education:
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
Certifications:
Active bar license in Texas
Admission to District and/or Bankruptcy Courts in Texas
Skills:
Expertise in bankruptcy law and creditor rights
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and bankruptcy software
Strong research, writing, and analytical skills
Effective communication and client management abilities
