Job Overview: A boutique plaintiff's litigation firm is seeking a dedicated and skilled Associate Attorney to join its growing team in Memphis, TN. The firm specializes in personal injury, civil rights, premises liability, auto accidents, tractor trailer accidents, and medical malpractice cases. Location:

  • Memphis, TN

Duties:

  • Handle complex personal injury litigation cases, including but not limited to auto accidents, premises liability, medical malpractice, and civil rights matters.
  • Prepare legal documents, including complaints, motions, discovery requests, and discovery responses.
  • Manage and coordinate all aspects of litigation, from initial client intake through case resolution.
  • Conduct legal research and draft pleadings and motions to support case strategies.
  • Attend hearings, depositions, and trials as necessary.
  • Communicate regularly with clients to provide case updates and discuss legal options.
  • Work closely with senior attorneys, and collaborate with the team to develop case strategies.
  • Maintain a high level of organization and manage deadlines effectively.

Requirements:

  • 2 to 5 years of litigation experience, ideally in personal injury or civil litigation (experience handling complex cases is a plus).
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed to practice law in Tennessee (licenses in Arkansas and Mississippi are a plus, but not required).
  • Strong research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
  • Ability to manage a caseload and handle cases independently.
  • Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Confidence in handling cases from inception through trial.

Education:

  • J.D. from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in Tennessee (additional licenses in Arkansas or Mississippi are a plus).

Skills:

  • Strong litigation, research, and writing skills.
  • Experience with all phases of litigation, including complaint drafting, discovery, and motion practice.
  • Ability to handle complex legal matters independently.
  • Excellent communication and client management skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
