Job Overview
A law firm is seeking an experienced Senior Discovery Attorney to handle complex eDiscovery challenges across a range of litigation, transactional, compliance, and government investigation matters. The ideal candidate will have 5 to 7 years of experience in overseeing all phases of discovery, from preservation through production. This position offers an opportunity to work closely with attorneys, technologists, and clients to develop tailored solutions focused on risk mitigation, cost control, and defensibility.

Duties

  • Provide expertise in all discovery phases, from preservation to production, for case teams and clients.
  • Assist with pre-litigation information governance, deposition/witness preparation, and trial preparation.
  • Collaborate with attorneys, technologists, and case teams to design and manage eDiscovery workflows and protocols.
  • Ensure compliance with eDiscovery best practices, focusing on risk reduction, cost control, and defensibility.
  • Oversee and ensure the quality of work from Discovery Attorneys, Project Attorneys, technologists, and service providers.
  • Review and verify deliverables to maintain consistency, accuracy, and efficiency.

Requirements

  • 5 to 7 years of experience in eDiscovery and litigation support.
  • Must be licensed and in good standing in the state of practice.
  • Proven track record of advising and managing discovery processes in complex legal matters.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • eDiscovery-related certifications (e.g., Relativity Certified Pro or Certified E-Discovery Specialist) are strongly preferred.

Skills

  • Exceptional communication skills (both written and verbal) with the ability to simplify complex legal and technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Expertise in eDiscovery laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, and other corporate messaging/collaboration tools.
  • Strong working knowledge of Relativity is highly preferred.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills to ensure efficient and accurate deliverables.
