Job Overview:
A prestigious law firm located in Washington, DC is seeking a Global Equity Compensation and Employment Associate or Managing Associate with 3-5 years of experience to join its Global Employment, Equity Compensation, and Immigration practice. The successful candidate will be an integral part of a dynamic team that provides expert counsel on a diverse range of equity compensation and employment matters, primarily for multinational and emerging tech companies. Duties:

  • Counsel clients on equity compensation and employment issues, including compliance for stock options (SO), restricted stock units (RSU), and employee stock purchase plans (ESPP).
  • Manage securities and foreign exchange filings related to SO, RSU, and ESPP programs.
  • Advise on leave policies, accommodations, return-to-office protocols, contractor classifications, and employment agreements.
  • Prepare multi-country analyses, draft employment-related documents and project manage global teams.
  • Conduct multijurisdictional research and assist in delivering analysis to clients both in writing and during meetings.
  • Work on employment agreements, handbooks, bonus and commission plans, and diligence projects related to global M&A transactions.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience in employee equity compensation or employment counseling, with a preference for cross-border experience.
  • Strong academic credentials with exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Admission to the DC State Bar is required.
  • Direct experience in the responsibilities outlined is highly valued.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the State Bar of DC.

Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
