Attorney with 1-5 years of experience

A law firm in Tampa, FL is seeking an Attorney with 1-5 years of experience specializing in defending against various General Liability claims. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, excellent research abilities, and exceptional written and oral communication skills. This role involves representing clients in court, drafting legal documents, attending depositions, and advocating for clients in a variety of litigation matters.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Reviewing and preparing summaries of medical records to support client cases.
• Drafting motions and attending hearings to represent clients effectively in court.
• Preparing clients for depositions and attending depositions as required.
• Drafting initial reports, interim reports, pre-trial reports, trials, and appellate activity.
• Responding to discovery requests and drafting discovery-related motions.
• Regularly attending court appearances to ensure favorable outcomes for clients.
• Taking and defending depositions of fact witnesses and expert witnesses.
• Developing strategies for case resolution and presenting legal arguments in court.
• Managing and prioritizing multiple cases and deadlines effectively.
• Building strong relationships with clients and colleagues to facilitate collaboration.

Requirements

• Licensed to practice law in the State of Florida.
• 1-5 years of experience specializing in General Liability defense.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent research abilities.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to draft legal documents and motions effectively.
• Experience with medical malpractice, insurance defense, and/or other related areas is advantageous.
• Portable book of business is a plus.

Education and Certifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to practice law in the State of Florida.
