Job Overview:
A growing and dynamic law firm is seeking a newly licensed attorney or recent JD graduate with a license pending to join the team. The ideal candidate will focus on family law, civil litigation, and probate matters. This position offers the opportunity to grow professionally in a supportive environment with a variety of legal experience and remote work flexibility. Attorneys will service a geographic area within a 90-minute radius of Springfield, IL, and will have the opportunity for career growth with competitive compensation and performance-based bonuses.

Location:

Duties:

  • Provide legal representation in family law, civil litigation, and probate cases
  • Conduct legal research and draft legal documents, including pleadings and motions
  • Attend court hearings, depositions, and mediations
  • Communicate with clients to gather case information, provide updates, and discuss strategies
  • Prepare and review contracts, agreements, and other legal documentation
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys to handle cases and provide support
  • Manage case deadlines, ensure compliance with legal procedures, and maintain organized records

Requirements:

  • JD degree from an accredited law school
  • Admission to the bar or license pending (Newly licensed attorneys preferred)
  • Ability to travel for court appearances within a 90-minute radius of Springfield
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Detail-oriented with a strong work ethic and organizational skills

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in Illinois (or pending licensure)

Skills:

  • Proficiency in legal research and writing
  • Strong litigation skills, including drafting pleadings and motions
  • Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously
  • Excellent client interaction and communication skills
