Job Description

Duties

  • Handle mortgage and mezzanine commercial real estate loan transactions.
  • Manage and oversee preferred equity and lines of credit deals.
  • Represent borrowers or lenders in financial transactions.
  • Negotiate, draft, and review complex financial agreements and documents.
  • Provide legal counsel and advice on financial matters to clients.
  • Conduct due diligence and assess risks associated with financial transactions.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Coordinate with internal and external parties, including clients, financial institutions, and attorneys.
  • Mentor and supervise junior attorneys and support staff.
  • Participate in business development activities to expand the firm's client base.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in mortgage and mezzanine commercial real estate loans, preferred equity, and lines of credit.
  • Proven track record of running and managing financial deals.
  • Strong academic credentials from a reputable law school.
  • Prior experience working in a law firm setting.
  • Admission to the California Bar.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active membership and good standing with the California Bar.
