Job Overview:

A law firm seeks an experienced Senior Estate Planning Attorney to join its team in Princeton, NJ. The ideal candidate will provide expert legal guidance in estate planning and elder law, working closely with clients to create personalized strategies for asset protection and distribution. This role requires strong leadership, communication, and legal drafting skills to ensure clients receive tailored advice and exceptional service.

Duties:

  • Draft legal documents such as wills, trusts, and ancillary documents using firm templates and software.
  • Conduct in-depth reviews of legal documents with clients, providing feedback to align with their estate planning goals.
  • Prioritize client satisfaction by addressing concerns and resolving issues promptly.
  • Represent the firm within the community by participating in relevant boards, committees, and groups.
  • Collaborate with and oversee the work of paralegals, law clerks, and administrative staff to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Organize and manage case files to ensure smooth operations and timely client file progress.
  • Conduct client meetings to review and ensure their estate plans continue to meet their objectives and needs.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in an estate planning or elder law-focused environment.
  • Licensed to practice law in New Jersey.
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Understanding of tax law as it relates to estate planning.
  • Strong decision-making, interpersonal, and communication skills.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • LLM in a related field preferred but not required.

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in the state of New Jersey.

Skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent legal research, drafting, and writing abilities.
  • Leadership skills for managing paralegals and other staff.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
