Duties:

  • Manage a substantial caseload in the areas of mortgage foreclosure, collections, and creditors' rights.
  • Represent clients in California state, federal, and bankruptcy courts.
  • Oversee all aspects of litigation, including discovery, depositions, and conflict resolution.
  • Provide expert legal advice on issues related to TILA, RESPA, FDCPA, and bankruptcy matters.
  • Prepare and review legal documents, such as pleadings, motions, and appellate briefs.
  • Attend court hearings, with some travel required for in-person appearances.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the firm’s presence and growth in California.
  • Lead and mentor junior attorneys and staff as needed.

Requirements:

  • Active member in good standing with the California State Bar.
  • Licensed or eligible for admission to California federal district and bankruptcy courts.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in mortgage foreclosure, collections, and creditors' rights litigation.
  • Strong understanding of discovery practice, depositions, and appellate procedures.
  • Familiarity with TILA, RESPA, FDCPA, and the Bankruptcy Code (preferred).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage a high-volume caseload while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Willingness to travel for court appearances and in-person meetings.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active California State Bar license (required).

Skills:

  • Strong legal research, writing, and case management skills.
  • Excellent negotiation and conflict resolution abilities.
  • Effective leadership skills with the ability to mentor and collaborate with legal teams.
