Job Overview: A law firm specializing in investment funds seeks an Associate Attorney with 3-6 years of experience advising investment fund matters, mainly focused on registered funds, business development companies (BDCs), and related securities laws.

  • Duties:

    • Advise on forming, structuring, and operating open-end funds (including ETFs) and closed-end funds across various asset classes.
    • Provide counsel on business development company (BDC) matters, including ongoing operational and reporting requirements for private and publicly traded BDCs.

    • Assist with governance-related compliance and regulatory issues concerning registered funds and BDCs.
  • Requirements:

    • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
    • Admission to the Bar in Washington, DC, or eligibility to promptly obtain admission.
    • 3-6 years of experience in a recognized investment funds practice of a global law firm.

    • Strong analytical skills and ability to handle complex legal issues.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Strong academic credentials.
  • Skills:

    • Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
    • Clear and compelling written and oral communication.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
    • Proficiency in legal research and drafting legal documents.

If a major corporation is involved in a front page dispute, chances are that this firm is handling the defense. The full service law firm is ultimately all about trial work, enticing hungry young associates from top law schools to join their offices. In Washington DC, you can be guaranteed that the serious fellow in the conference room is the CEO of a major corporation, although associates will spend a few years in the library before they get to meet him. Support staff, compensation, and office environment are all top of the line. The training program and relatively speedy partnership track are an added bonus as well.

Your information will not be forwarded to any employers at this time. A recruiter will contact you with more information once our internal review of your resume is completed.
