Appellate Associate Attorney

A law firm in Baltimore is seeking an Appellate Associate Attorney who is a talented legal writer and eager to further develop these skills. The ideal candidate should have appellate and federal clerkship experience or a desire to pursue a career path away from mass-attrition models. Virginia Bar admission is considered a strong plus.

Duties:

• Draft appellate briefs, motions, and other legal documents with precision and clarity.
• Conduct legal research on complex appellate issues and provide strategic analysis.
• Assist in all aspects of appellate practice, including case evaluation, oral arguments, and client consultations.
• Collaborate with partners, associates, and support staff to effectively represent clients in appellate matters.
• Stay abreast of developments in appellate law and procedural rules.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the Bar in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• Appellate and/or federal clerkship experience preferred.
• Strong legal research and writing skills, with an emphasis on appellate advocacy.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Education:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

Admission to the Bar in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
