Job Overview: A well-established law firm is seeking an experienced Immigration Attorney to join its team in Orange County, CA. This is a fantastic opportunity for an attorney with 1 to 4 years of experience in immigration law to further their career and develop professionally within a supportive and dynamic firm. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing a caseload, interacting with clients, and collaborating with a team of attorneys and legal assistants under the guidance of the Sr. Associate Attorney.

Location:

  • Orange, CA

Duties:

  • Explain immigration concepts and provide strategic solutions to clients
  • Represent non-detained and detained individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and the Board of Immigration Appeals
  • Manage a caseload and provide legal support to clients throughout the immigration process
  • Conduct intake interviews with detained individuals at detention centers
  • Prepare various immigration applications, including removal defense and family-based immigration petitions
  • Review immigration applications and make necessary adjustments
  • Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community-based organizations on changes in immigration law
  • Meet with potential clients for immigration consultations and develop strategic legal plans
  • Develop case strategies and prepare clients and witnesses for court or USCIS testimony
  • Analyze legal options for clients and advise on potential case benefits
  • Draft and submit legal briefs for a variety of immigration cases

Requirements:

  • 1 to 4 years of experience in immigration law
  • Strong ability to manage a caseload and move cases forward
  • A team player, open to working with colleagues and strategizing
  • Preferably bilingual (English/Spanish)
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience with Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian, EOIR, Detained, Citizenship, and other USCIS applications
  • Experience with Case Management Software is preferred

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active Bar admission in the relevant jurisdiction
