Location:

Duties:

  • Explain complex immigration concepts and offer strategic legal solutions to clients.
  • Represent non-detained and detained individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and the Board of Immigration Appeals.
  • Manage a caseload, ensuring effective case progression and client satisfaction.
  • Conduct intake interviews with detained individuals at detention centers.
  • Prepare various immigration applications, including removal defense and family-based immigration petitions.
  • Review and make necessary adjustments to immigration applications and documentation.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community organizations on immigration law changes.
  • Provide strategic consultations to potential clients and determine the best legal course of action.
  • Develop case strategies and prepare clients and witnesses for court or USCIS testimony.
  • Offer legal analysis to clients on potential benefits of their cases.
  • Prepare and submit legal briefs for a variety of immigration cases.

Requirements:

  • 1 to 4 years of experience in Immigration Law.
  • Strong track record of managing caseloads and moving legal cases forward.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred, but not required.
  • Experience with Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian cases, EOIR, Detained cases, Citizenship, and other USCIS applications.
  • Familiarity with case management software is preferred.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the bar in the state of California (or ability to gain admission).

Skills:

  • Strong legal research and writing abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze complex immigration issues and develop strategic solutions.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple cases effectively.
