Job Overview: A law firm in Raleigh, NC, seeks a talented Real Estate Associate Attorney to join its team. The ideal candidate will provide legal counsel and support in various real estate transactions and litigation matters.

Duties:

  • Draft and negotiate design, construction, and development agreements across various industry sectors.
  • Negotiate EPC contracts for extensive infrastructure and energy projects.
  • Provide strategic advice to clients on claims management, change orders, extra work claims, delay, and construction defect claims.
  • Support construction litigation and arbitration matters, including drafting pleadings, discovery, motions, depositions, mediations, and arbitration hearings/trials.
  • Communicate verbally and in writing with clients, attorneys, business professionals, and third parties.
  • Produce high-quality deliverables, promptly respond to correspondence, and manage deadlines efficiently.
  • Foster positive relationships and comply with all firm policies and practices.
  • Engage in both physical and sedentary activities necessary for the role.

Requirements:

  • JD degree and admission to the NC Bar.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in construction contracting and related development.
  • Experience in transactional and litigation support related to construction and development work.
  • Proficiency in drafting and negotiating design, construction, and development agreements.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard form agreements such as AIA forms.
  • Preferred experience in litigation or arbitration matters.
  • Strong analytical, writing, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Effective research, problem-solving, and conceptual thinking abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and persuade others.
