Job Overview:
A leading law firm is seeking a Senior Energy Attorney with a minimum of seven years of experience for its Washington, D.C. office. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) practice, including FERC litigation, settlement, and advising clients on energy and capacity market participation issues. This role requires a deep understanding of regulated energy markets, excellent analytical and writing skills, strong interpersonal abilities, and the capacity to manage projects and interact with clients effectively.

Location:

  • Washington, D.C.

Duties:

  • Represent clients in FERC litigation and settlement matters.
  • Advise clients on energy market and capacity market participation issues.
  • Engage in stakeholder proceedings with ISO/RTO markets.
  • Draft legal documents and provide strategic counsel on power supply arrangements.
  • Lead project management responsibilities and collaborate with clients.
  • Conduct legal research and provide comprehensive regulatory advice.
  • Work both independently and within a collaborative team environment.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of seven years of relevant legal experience in energy law.
  • Extensive experience with FERC practice, including litigation and settlements.
  • Knowledge of ISO/RTO markets and energy regulation.
  • Proven ability to manage projects and take on significant responsibilities.
  • Strong client interaction skills.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the District of Columbia Bar.

Skills:

  • Deep knowledge of regulated energy markets.
  • Exceptional analytical and writing skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage complex projects and work independently.
