Job Overview: A reputable law firm is seeking an Associate Attorney specializing in immigration and family law to join its team in Indio, CA. This position involves providing legal support, guidance, and representation for clients facing immigration or family law matters. The attorney will manage a reasonable caseload, offering strategic legal advice and representation in court. Fluency in English and Spanish is required.

Duties:

  • Provide legal counsel and support for clients in immigration and family law cases
  • Advise clients on appropriate behavior and communication while charges are pending
  • Meet with clients to discuss charges, legal strategy, and case developments
  • Communicate with clients to understand their legal concerns and provide essential advice
  • Develop legal strategies to resolve cases favorably and cost-effectively
  • Represent clients in court and legal proceedings, including family and criminal matters
  • Draft and prepare legal documents, such as pleadings, contracts, and agreements
  • Assist clients with legal negotiations, including plea bargains with regional attorneys
  • Stay updated on relevant legal developments and legislation
  • Build and maintain trustworthy relationships with clients
  • Collect retainers and execute client contracts

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in immigration or family law
  • Strong legal research, writing, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage a caseload and work independently
  • Strong organizational and time management skills

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active Bar license in California

Skills:

  • Fluency in both English and Spanish (required)
  • Experience in immigration or family law practice
