A law firm in Ontario, CA, is seeking a highly experienced Senior Insurance Defense Attorney to join their team. This role requires extensive experience in all phases of litigation, including developing risk mitigation strategies, providing legal advice, and representing clients in legal proceedings. The ideal candidate will excel in both individual and collaborative settings, bringing a high level of expertise to the firm’s insurance defense practice.

Duties:

  • Provide comprehensive legal counsel to clients on all aspects of insurance defense law.
  • Perform thorough legal research and extensive due diligence to support case development and strategy.
  • Draft, review, and modify documents, including contracts related to insurance defense.
  • Prepare for and attend legal proceedings, including court appearances, depositions, and arbitrations.
  • Negotiate settlements and terms on behalf of clients to achieve favorable outcomes.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate client records and update files as necessary.
  • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to minimize client exposure.
  • Supervise and mentor paralegals and administrative assistants, ensuring effective case management and support.
  • Collaborate closely with administrative staff, colleagues, and senior partners to deliver high-quality legal services.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active California State Bar license.
  • Minimum of 15-30 years of experience in insurance defense law, with demonstrated expertise in all litigation phases.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey complex legal concepts.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Proven negotiation and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues to serve clients' best interests.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in the State of California.
