The ideal candidate will conduct title examinations, draft title opinions, and provide legal guidance on oil and gas transactions. This role requires a Juris Doctor (JD) degree, active license, and subject matter expertise in oil and gas law. Duties:Conduct title examinations to determine ownership related to oil and gas properties.Identify and analyze relevant documents such as deeds, leases, and contracts to establish ownership rights.Draft title opinions highlighting any defects, liens, or other issues impacting property ownership or use.Perform due diligence reviews for clients involved in oil and gas transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, and joint ventures.Provide guidance on legal risks, potential liabilities, and strategies for mitigating legal issues in oil and gas transactions.Draft, review, and negotiate agreements and contracts, ensuring they protect client interests and comply with relevant laws.Stay updated on federal, state, and local laws and regulations relevant to oil and gas transactions.Collaborate with litigation attorneys if legal action becomes necessary.Foster teamwork through collaboration with all team members and ensure seamless execution of complex legal transactions.Meet quarterly billable requirement of 450 hours.Actively pursue continuous learning opportunities.Support other activities and projects as assigned or dictated by business priorities.
