Position Title: Real Estate Counsel

Job Overview

A prestigious, globally recognized law firm headquartered in Dallas, TX is seeking a seasoned legal professional to join its real estate legal team. This opportunity is ideal for a senior-level attorney with substantial experience in land use, title, and complex property transactions—particularly those connected to large-scale renewable energy developments. Duties

  • Provide legal counsel on high-value real estate transactions tied to renewable energy project development

  • Draft and negotiate a wide range of property-related agreements including purchase/sale contracts and ancillary real estate documents

  • Advise on title insurance matters, including endorsements and curative actions for title defects

  • Review and interpret title commitments and ALTA surveys

  • Support clients during land acquisition and leasing negotiations for utility-scale energy projects

  • Liaise with title companies, surveyors, and external stakeholders to address project-specific real estate concerns

  • Contribute to internal knowledge-sharing and cross-functional collaboration on real estate matters

  • Stay current on market trends and regulatory developments affecting renewable real estate transactions

Requirements

  • 7-10 years of hands-on legal experience in real estate transactions

  • Demonstrated knowledge of title review, curative title processes, and title insurance negotiation

  • Proven ability to manage real estate components of energy infrastructure or similar development projects

  • Effective communicator with excellent drafting skills and attention to detail

  • Experience supporting clients from project inception through closing in a high-volume, high-stakes legal setting

  • Previous work with utility-scale renewable energy clients strongly preferred

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications

  • Active license to practice law in the state of Texas

Skills

  • Strategic problem-solving with a commercial mindset

  • Ability to work independently while maintaining alignment with cross-functional legal teams

  • High-level negotiation skills

  • Deep familiarity with real estate documentation and regulatory frameworks

  • Strong organizational and project management abilities
