Job Overview:
A growing and dynamic law firm is seeking a highly motivated Immigration Attorney to join its team in Kendall, FL. The ideal candidate will possess strong immigration experience or demonstrate the willingness to transition into immigration law from other legal areas. This position requires the ability to handle a fast-paced caseload, manage a team, interact with clients, and ensure deadlines are met while maintaining a high level of organization. Location:

Duties:

  • Meet with potential new clients to evaluate their cases and provide legal counsel.
  • Develop and coordinate case strategies with clients and staff.
  • Manage multiple cases, supervise paralegals, and oversee various projects and deadlines.
  • Train and mentor junior staff, ensuring smooth case management.
  • Prepare, revise, and file court documents such as motions, briefs, and memoranda.
  • Conduct legal research to stay updated on immigration laws and case precedents.
  • Market the firm’s immigration services and cross-sell other legal practices.
  • Participate in one Saturday per month with the potential for performance bonuses based on new client signings.
  • Represent clients in court hearings and trials.
  • Develop expertise in areas such as Family Petitions, Asylum, Individual Hearings, SIJIS, U-Visas, and Waivers.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school (required).
  • Active Bar License in good standing from any U.S. state or Puerto Rico (required).
  • Authorization to work in the U.S.
  • Fluency in Spanish (required).
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in immigration law (preferred), or willingness to transition from other areas of law into immigration.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active Bar License in good standing from any U.S. state or Puerto Rico.

Skills:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and lead a team of paralegals.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.
  • Proficiency in legal research and document drafting.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Client-focused with strong business acumen.
  • Fluency in Spanish (required).
