As a Senior Immigration Attorney, you will play a key role in providing legal counsel, representing clients, and collaborating with a talented team of professionals.

Duties:

  • Provide expert legal guidance on immigration matters, including removal defense and family-based immigration petitions.
  • Represent non-detained and detained individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and the Board of Immigration Appeals.
  • Manage a diverse caseload, ensuring timely and accurate case preparation and submissions.
  • Conduct intakes and visit detained individuals at centers to gather information for case strategies.
  • Review and edit immigration applications, ensuring compliance with legal standards and making necessary adjustments.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community organizations on updates and changes in immigration law.
  • Conduct strategic consultations with prospective clients to develop effective immigration strategies.
  • Develop case strategies, and prepare clients and witnesses for court appearances and USCIS testimony.
  • Provide thorough legal analysis to determine case benefits and potential outcomes.
  • Draft and submit legal briefs for a variety of immigration-related cases.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in immigration law.
  • Proven ability to manage and move cases forward effectively.
  • Experience with family-based petitions, humanitarian cases, EOIR proceedings, detained cases, citizenship applications, and other USCIS-related filings.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build client trust and collaborate with team members.
  • Experience with case management software is preferred.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred, but not required.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to practice law in PR.

Certifications:

  • Bar admission in good standing.

Skills:

  • Expertise in immigration law, with experience in both detained and non-detained cases.
  • Strong case management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to strategize and provide comprehensive legal counsel.
  • Proficient in legal research, writing, and drafting legal documents.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills.
