A law firm seeks a highly skilled Environmental Attorney to join its team in Ann Arbor, MI. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in complex litigation, with a focus on multi-party cases. While experience in environmental law, particularly CERCLA, is a plus, it is not required. This is a unique opportunity to work in a collaborative environment, contribute to litigation strategy, and engage in challenging legal work while maintaining a reduced billable hour requirement. Remote work options are available depending on jurisdiction.

Duties:

  • Handle complex, multi-party environmental litigation cases.
  • Draft and respond to discovery requests.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare detailed legal briefs.
  • Collaborate with senior partners and the litigation team to develop case strategies.
  • Contribute to the overall direction and execution of litigation plans.
  • Engage in client communication and case updates as necessary.

Requirements:

  • At least 5 years of litigation experience, with a strong focus on complex cases.
  • Exceptional written communication and litigation writing skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple aspects of litigation, including legal research, drafting, and strategy development.
  • Environmental law experience is preferred but not required, specifically knowledge of CERCLA.
  • Strong collaborative and teamwork skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in Michigan.
