Job Overview
A prominent law firm is seeking a Senior Discovery Attorney with 5 to 7 years of experience to join its team. This role involves advising and supporting case teams and clients throughout all stages of the eDiscovery process, from preservation to production. The Senior Discovery Attorney will also assist with pre-litigation information governance, deposition/witness preparation, and trial support when necessary. The position requires a collaborative approach with attorneys, technologists, and clients to craft and manage case-specific eDiscovery workflows and protocols aimed at risk mitigation, cost control, and defensibility. The successful candidate will also oversee junior attorneys and service providers to ensure quality, consistency, and efficiency in deliverables.

Duties

  • Advise and support case teams and clients through all phases of eDiscovery, from preservation to production.
  • Provide guidance on pre-litigation information governance, post-production deposition/witness preparation, and trial preparation as needed.
  • Collaborate with attorneys, technologists, and clients to create and implement eDiscovery workflows and protocols tailored to each case.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards for risk mitigation, cost control, and defensibility.
  • Oversee and ensure quality control of work delivered by junior attorneys, project attorneys, technologists, and service providers.
  • Manage and review complex discovery data to support case outcomes.

Requirements

  • 5 to 7 years of experience in eDiscovery and litigation support.
  • Must be licensed and in good standing in the state where the position is based.
  • Strong knowledge of eDiscovery laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Experience with complex eDiscovery workflows and advising clients and case teams on strategy.
  • Proven ability to manage and oversee junior attorneys and service providers in the discovery process.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Preferred: eDiscovery-related certifications such as Relativity Certified Pro or Certified E-Discovery Specialist.

Skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal and technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong fluency with Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, and corporate messaging/collaboration tools.
  • Expertise with Relativity strongly preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail, with a focus on quality assurance and risk management.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
