This position offers the opportunity to advocate passionately for clients facing serious criminal allegations. The ideal candidate will possess outstanding litigation capabilities, excellent client relationship skills, and a strong drive to secure positive outcomes.

Duties:

  • Represent clients in criminal cases from initial consultation through trial conclusion.

  • Formulate personalized defense strategies and provide assertive courtroom advocacy.

  • Conduct comprehensive legal research and evaluate evidence meticulously.

  • Prepare detailed motions, briefs, and necessary legal documentation.

  • Negotiate effectively with prosecutors on plea deals, bond reductions, and case resolutions.

  • Appear in court regularly for hearings, arraignments, pre-trial conferences, motions, and trials.

  • Build and maintain strong, supportive client relationships and communicate case developments promptly.

  • Collaborate closely with legal support staff, paralegals, and colleagues to ensure cohesive case management.

  • Provide mentorship and guidance to less experienced attorneys and legal interns.

  • Remain current with ongoing legal precedents, statutory changes, and best practices in criminal law.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of direct criminal litigation experience.

  • Proven track record in criminal defense, including significant trial and courtroom experience.

  • Strong knowledge of Georgia criminal statutes, procedures, and legal precedents.

  • Excellent analytical, writing, and legal research capabilities.

  • Outstanding verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to effectively manage multiple complex cases simultaneously.

  • Capable of performing independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership and good standing with the State Bar of Georgia.
