Job Overview:

A respected law firm specializing in commercial real estate lending is seeking a highly skilled attorney with 3–8 years of experience to assist in representing institutional lenders in a range of sophisticated commercial real estate transactions. This position involves handling all aspects of lender representation, from inception to closing, within a collaborative and professional environment.

Location:

  • New York, New York

Duties:

  • Represent institutional lenders in financing commercial, residential, and mixed-use properties.
  • Draft commercial loan documents, including those for mezzanine, construction, balance sheet, and bridge loans.
  • Review and analyze organizational documents for borrowing entities.
  • Evaluate and revise commitment letters, term sheets, fee letters, credit agreements, and ancillary loan documents.
  • Oversee real estate secured finance transactions, workouts, and restructurings.
  • Examine title reports, surveys, and ensure title clearance.
  • Manage lending and debt finance transactions, including property acquisitions, leveraged buyouts, recapitalizations, and refinancing.

Requirements:

  • Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume work environment.
  • Strong legal research and writing capabilities.
  • Exceptional analytical, organizational, and prioritization skills.
  • Effective communication skills for client interactions.
  • Hands-on proficiency with Microsoft 365.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active bar membership in the State of New York.

Skills:

  • Expertise in drafting and negotiating complex legal documents.
  • Solid understanding of commercial real estate finance.
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
