Job Overview:
A dynamic and growing law firm is seeking a Bankruptcy Partner to lead and expand its bankruptcy practice. This opportunity allows the selected candidate to leverage their extensive experience in bankruptcy law, manage complex cases, and contribute to the firm’s strategic growth. Location:

  • Denver, Colorado

Duties:

  • Lead and manage complex bankruptcy cases, including Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 filings.
  • Develop and implement effective case strategies while managing a high-volume caseload.
  • Represent clients at 341 meetings of creditors.
  • Conduct client intake, assess financial situations, and provide sound legal advice.
  • Handle bankruptcy adversary proceedings, including litigation and settlement negotiations (preferred).
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of bankruptcy codes, rules, and regulations.
  • Mentor and train junior attorneys and legal staff.
  • Collaborate with the firm’s marketing, sales, and account teams to drive the growth of the bankruptcy practice.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative team environment.
  • Advocate for clients' rights and interests, ensuring optimal legal representation.

Requirements:

  • Attorney in good standing with the Colorado Bar.
  • Extensive experience in debtor-side and consumer bankruptcy law, particularly in Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 cases.
  • Proven track record in managing bankruptcy cases independently from inception to conclusion.
  • Strong experience in client intake and consultation.
  • Experience in bankruptcy adversary proceedings is highly valued.
  • Excellent client communication and advocacy skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Leadership skills and the ability to manage and mentor junior attorneys.
  • Commitment to professional development through CLEs and networking.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in Colorado.

Skills:

  • Mastery of bankruptcy law, including Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 filings.
  • Strong legal research, writing, and drafting skills.
  • Effective case management and strategy development.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to lead and mentor a team.
  • Negotiation and litigation experience in bankruptcy adversary proceedings.
  • Proficiency in maintaining client relationships and advocating for client interests.
