EOIR Immigration Attorney

Job Overview

A law firm seeks a dedicated and experienced EOIR Immigration Attorney to join its dynamic legal team in Houston, TX. This role offers a unique opportunity to advocate for non-detained and detained individuals in removal proceedings, providing critical legal representation and guidance. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in immigration law, strong case management skills, and a passion for defending the rights of individuals facing immigration challenges.

Duties

• Represent clients in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court, USCIS, and the Board of Immigration Appeals.
• Prepare and submit defensive immigration applications, including I-589, 42A, 42B, I-485, SIJS, and prosecutorial discretion requests.
• Review and manage USCIS filings, including I-130, I-601A, and U-Visa applications.
• Conduct client meetings to develop legal strategies and provide case analysis.
• Oversee a team of paralegals to ensure high-quality client service and efficient case processing.
• Draft and submit legal briefs for various immigration cases.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in immigration law.
• Strong ability to collaborate, strategize, and contribute as part of a team.
• Experience handling Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian cases, EOIR matters, Detained cases, Citizenship applications, and other USCIS-related filings.
• Familiarity with case management software is preferred.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is a plus but not required.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage and advance legal cases efficiently.

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• Active license to practice law in any U.S. jurisdiction.

Certifications

• Admission to practice law and in good standing with the relevant state bar.
