Duties

  • Manage a caseload of workers' compensation cases for employers and insurance companies across Missouri and Illinois.
  • Conduct trials, depositions, and appeals independently, ensuring client objectives are met.
  • Lead and mentor legal staff, fostering an efficient and collaborative work environment.
  • Draft and review legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and settlement agreements.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of workers' compensation laws in Missouri and Illinois.
  • Participate in client meetings, mediations, and settlement negotiations.
  • Prepare research articles and provide legal education to clients.
  • Provide strategic direction and leadership in case management and staff operations.

Requirements

  • Licensed to practice law in Missouri and Illinois (or eligible for licensure).
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in workers’ compensation law.
  • Experience handling complex cases in workers’ compensation, including depositions and trials.
  • Strong negotiation and litigation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a team of support staff.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in Missouri and Illinois (or ability to be licensed).
