Workers' Compensation Defense Partner

A law firm in Chicago, IL, is seeking an experienced Workers' Compensation Defense Partner to manage, lead, and expand the firm's workers' compensation defense practice. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in this specialized area of law and will oversee case strategy, litigation, and resolution for clients, mentor associates, and contribute to the firm's overall growth.

Duties:

• Lead and manage a diverse range of workers' compensation defense cases from inception through resolution.
• Develop and implement effective case strategies in collaboration with clients and team members, ensuring alignment with clients' goals and expectations.
• Serve as a mentor to associates, providing guidance and support to foster their professional development and success within the practice area.
• Engage in business development activities to cultivate new client relationships and maintain existing ones, contributing to the firm's growth and reputation in the workers' compensation defense arena.
• Stay abreast of legislative changes, judicial rulings, and industry trends affecting workers' compensation to provide informed advice and strategic direction.
• Represent the firm and clients in hearings, mediations, and other dispute resolution proceedings, demonstrating exceptional advocacy skills.
• Contribute to the firm's thought leadership by participating in seminars, writing articles, and engaging in professional organizations related to workers' compensation law.

Requirements:

• Must be barred in the State of Illinois.
• 5+ years of experience in workers' compensation defense.
• Extensive experience and proven track record in workers' compensation defense.
• Strong leadership and management skills.
• Excellent advocacy and litigation skills.
• Proven ability to develop and implement effective case strategies.
• Experience in business development and client relationship management.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to mentor and develop associates.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admission to the Illinois State Bar in good standing.
