Job Title: Private Equity Attorney

Job Overview: A distinguished law firm located in Washington, DC, is seeking a highly qualified attorney with 4-5 years of experience in private equity and mergers and acquisitions. This role is suited for an individual who excels in drafting, writing, and analyzing complex legal documents while demonstrating superior attention to detail. Duties:

  • Draft and negotiate purchase and merger agreements, LLC and LP agreements, and related transaction documents.
  • Manage day-to-day legal needs for private equity fund clients and portfolio companies.
  • Provide business and strategic guidance as an extension of client business teams.
  • Play a lead role in complex transactions, ensuring compliance and strategic outcomes.
  • Collaborate closely with clients and internal teams to meet project objectives in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements:

  • 4-5 years of relevant experience in private equity, mergers, and acquisitions.
  • Strong experience with drafting and negotiating transactional agreements.
  • Excellent verbal and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Proven ability to offer strategic business judgment in legal matters.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Strong academic credentials are essential.

Certifications:

  • Member in good standing of the Bar in Washington, DC, or ability to waive into the jurisdiction.
