Job Overview

A law firm is seeking a non-partnership track International Employment Attorney to join its Employment Group. This position is ideal for candidates with 5+ years of experience in employment counseling, specifically supporting cross-border and global employment work. The role will involve advising on corporate transactions, employee terminations, restrictive covenants, employee mobility, and more. This position will interact frequently with offices across the firm’s global employment practice. The successful candidate will have a strong academic background and a willingness to work with international clients.

Duties

  • Conduct employment diligence and provide advice on employment aspects of corporate transactions.
  • Draft and negotiate employment, retention, and related agreements.
  • Advise on reductions in force and employee terminations.
  • Draft restrictive covenants and provide counsel on employee mobility.
  • Offer advice and counsel to emerging companies on all aspects of employment law.
  • Work with cross-border teams and clients to support global employment matters.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in employment counseling, including international experience.
  • Experience in corporate transactions and advising on employment-related aspects.
  • Proven experience drafting and negotiating employment agreements, restrictive covenants, and related documents.
  • Ability to interact with international clients and colleagues across multiple offices.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and strategic thinking skills.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in the jurisdiction in which the candidate is applying.

Skills

  • Expertise in employment counseling, both domestic and international.
  • Strong writing, communication, and legal research skills.
  • Ability to manage complex legal matters and work independently.
  • High-level strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Client-oriented with excellent project management skills.
