Job Overview:

The Patent Development And Strategy Attorney will be crucial in patent prosecution, client counseling, and strategic patent portfolio management. This position requires a blend of technical expertise, legal understanding, and the ability to deliver high-quality patent services to clients.

Duties:

  • Communicate effectively with clients, lawyers, business professionals, and third parties verbally and in writing.
  • Produce high-quality deliverables, including patent applications, freedom to operate opinions, and due diligence reports.
  • Respond promptly to client inquiries and correspondence, maintaining a high standard of client service.
  • Managed patent prosecution matters from inception to grant, ensuring compliance with USPTO regulations and firm standards.
  • Conduct legal research, analyze patent and technical documents, and provide insightful recommendations to clients.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to leverage firm resources and expertise in delivering comprehensive patent strategies.
  • Uphold firm policies and practices, including ethical standards and confidentiality requirements.

Requirements:

  • JD degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to practice in Pennsylvania.
  • Registration with the USPTO.
  • 2+ years of experience in patent prosecution, preferably in a large or mid-sized law firm.
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry preferred.
  • Familiarity with drafting patent applications, conducting patentability searches, and preparing opinions.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated organizational and time management abilities.
