Job Overview

A distinguished law firm in San Diego, CA, is seeking an experienced Insurance Coverage Attorney to join its dynamic Insurance Coverage Practice Group. This role involves drafting coverage opinions and handling litigation related to various types of insurance coverage disputes, including general liability, advertising injury, directors and officers (D&O) liability, professional liability, workers’ compensation, and first-party property cases. The position provides opportunities for hands-on case management, client interaction, and courtroom experience in a collaborative environment. A hybrid work schedule is available.

Duties

• Analyze complex insurance policies and provide well-reasoned coverage opinions.

• Represent clients in coverage disputes, including litigation and settlement negotiations.

• Prepare pleadings, motions, and other legal documents related to insurance coverage matters.

• Conduct legal research and draft persuasive arguments.

• Engage in discovery, including depositions and document review.

• Argue motions and participate in court hearings.

• Work directly with clients to provide strategic guidance on insurance coverage issues.

• Assist in trial preparation and participate in trials when necessary.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience handling insurance coverage matters.

• Strong legal research, analytical, and writing skills.

• Ability to manage multiple cases effectively and meet deadlines.

• Excellent oral advocacy and negotiation skills.

• Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities.

• Licensed to practice law in California with an active California Bar membership.

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active California Bar license required.
