Job Overview:
A prestigious law firm in Columbia, SC, is seeking a highly experienced Healthcare Reimbursement Attorney to join its growing team. This role focuses on advising healthcare clients, including physicians, hospitals, and skilled nursing facilities, on various healthcare billing, reimbursement, and regulatory issues, with an emphasis on Medicare, Medicaid, and VA/Tricare. The successful candidate will also possess deep knowledge of fraud and abuse laws such as the Anti-Kickback Statute, the Stark Law, and the False Claims Act.

Duties:

  • Provide expert legal advice on healthcare billing and reimbursement matters, including Medicare, Medicaid, and VA/Tricare programs.
  • Guide clients through the complexities of federal fraud and abuse laws, including the Anti-Kickback Statute, Stark Law, and the False Claims Act.
  • Assist healthcare entities with compliance in enrollment, claims submission processes, and structuring business relationships.
  • Advise clients on healthcare policies, regulations, and strategies to ensure adherence to applicable laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with clients to structure business operations in compliance with healthcare laws, minimizing exposure to legal risks.
  • Work closely with hospitals, physicians, and other healthcare providers to develop tailored compliance strategies.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 10 years of legal experience in healthcare reimbursement, billing, and fraud law.
  • In-depth knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, VA/Tricare, and relevant federal fraud and abuse laws.
  • Experience in advising healthcare entities such as hospitals, academic medical centers, home health agencies, and skilled nursing facilities.
  • Knowledge of private payor regulations is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to advise clients and collaborate within a team-oriented environment.
  • Proven track record of handling complex legal matters and providing strategic solutions for clients.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in the state of South Carolina or eligibility to obtain licensure.

Skills:
