A law firm is seeking a dedicated and motivated Associate Immigration Attorney for an exciting opportunity in Dallas, TX. Location:

Duties:

  • Explain immigration law concepts and provide strategic legal solutions.
  • Represent non-detained and detained individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals.
  • Manage a caseload efficiently, ensuring timely progress of cases.
  • Visit detention centers to conduct intake interviews with detained individuals.
  • Prepare and file various immigration applications, including removal defense and family-based petitions.
  • Review and revise immigration applications/packets as needed.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community-based organizations to stay current on changes in immigration law.
  • Conduct consultations with potential clients to discuss legal strategy and eligibility.
  • Develop legal strategies and prepare clients and witnesses for court or USCIS testimony.
  • Provide legal analysis to clients, helping them understand potential benefits of their cases.
  • Prepare and submit legal briefs for various immigration cases.

Requirements:

  • At least 1 to 4 years of experience in Immigration Law.
  • Ability to manage and move legal cases forward while handling a caseload effectively.
  • A team-oriented approach, open to collaborating with fellow associates and providing assistance as needed.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members.
  • Experience with Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian cases, EOIR proceedings, Detained cases, Citizenship, and other USCIS applications.
  • Familiarity with Case Management Software is preferred.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active Bar membership in any U.S. jurisdiction.

Skills:

  • Strong research and legal writing skills.
  • Excellent verbal communication and client interaction skills.
  • Knowledge of immigration law, including various case types and legal procedures.
  • Ability to handle high-volume caseloads and meet deadlines efficiently.
