Job Overview:
A reputable law firm in Brooklyn, NY, is seeking an Associate Attorney to join their team. The firm specializes in personal injury law and is looking for an attorney with at least one year of plaintiff’s experience. This is a full-time position with opportunities for professional growth and mentorship from senior attorneys. The ideal candidate will have a passion for helping clients, the ability to perform legal research, and experience drafting legal documents.

Duties:

  • Collaborate with senior associates, paralegals, and clients to manage caseloads efficiently.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, and oppositions, and handle Plaintiff’s depositions.
  • Maintain organized client files and ensure they are updated regularly.
  • Conduct legal research and assist in preparing for hearings and legal proceedings.
  • Provide legal counsel under the supervision of senior attorneys.
  • Manage an assigned caseload while working closely with a senior attorney and paralegal.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 1 year of Plaintiff’s Personal Injury experience, including drafting legal documents and defending depositions.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with clients, senior attorneys, and support staff.
  • Capacity to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Must be a licensed attorney, having passed the Bar exam, and a member in good standing.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Must have passed the Bar exam and be a member in good standing with the state bar.
  • Active participation in professional legal associations, such as the ABA, is preferred.

Skills:

  • Strong legal research and writing skills.
  • Ability to manage time and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Problem-solving abilities, especially in high-pressure situations.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
