The role involves managing all discovery phases, preparing legal documentation, formulating legal strategy, and appearing in court. Responsibilities:

  • Research and analyze legal sources such as statutes, recorded judicial decisions, legal articles, constitutions, and legal codes.
  • Manage all discovery phases, including propounding and responding to written discovery, electronic document production, and taking and defending depositions.
  • Prepare legal briefs, pleadings, appeals, contracts, and other necessary legal documentation.
  • Formulate legal strategy and manage cases effectively.
  • Appear in court for status, hearings, and trials.
  • Work closely with other attorneys and team members on legal matters.
  • Communicate with clients, providing status reports and legal advice.
  • Develop and maintain a working knowledge and understanding of construction case issues.
  • Travel as required for case matters.

Requirements:

  • 2-10 years of experience in civil litigation defense, with a strong preference for prior work in construction and design professional law.
  • Previous practical work experience on construction litigation matters is strongly preferred.
  • Licensed and in good standing to practice law in Texas.
  • Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Texas State Bar is mandatory.
