A law firm in Cedar Rapids is seeking a Lateral Real Estate Transactional Attorney with 3+ years of experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background, including a J.D. from an ABA-Accredited law school, and possess an active attorney license in at least one U.S. jurisdiction with the ability to promptly obtain admission in the State of Iowa. The candidate should have experience assisting clients in acquiring and disposing of NNN industrial, commercial, retail, and medical properties, drafting and negotiating commercial leases, and facilitating closings. Additionally, familiarity with tax increment financing and property tax abatement procedures is preferred. The candidate should have the ability and willingness to handle transactions from start to finish and a desire to grow a book of business.

 

Duties:

  • Assist clients in acquiring and disposing of NNN industrial, commercial, retail, and medical properties.
  • Draft and negotiate commercial leases.
  • Facilitate real estate closings.
  • Provide legal advice and support on tax increment financing and property tax abatement procedures.
  • Handle transactions from start to finish.
  • Cultivate and grow a book of business.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, lenders, title companies, and other parties involved in transactions.
  • Conduct due diligence and review legal documents related to real estate transactions.

 

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in real estate transactional law.
  • Strong academic background with a J.D. from an ABA-Accredited law school.
  • Active attorney license in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
  • Ability to promptly obtain admission in the State of Iowa.
  • Experience in assisting clients with NNN industrial, commercial, retail, and medical properties.
  • Proficiency in drafting and negotiating commercial leases.

Education:
