Criminal Defense Associate Attorney

A law firm seeks an experienced Criminal Defense Associate Attorney to join a dynamic and rapidly growing legal team in the Redwood City area. Duties

• Advise clients on their legal rights in criminal cases and draft related legal documents.
• Represent clients at pretrial hearings, offering advice on the best strategies following each session.
• Manage court appearances, including trials, by drafting motions, interviewing witnesses, and conducting legal research.
• Analyze probable outcomes of cases by applying knowledge of relevant legal precedents.
• Maintain an organized caseload and ensure all legal deadlines and requirements are met.
• Assess potential case benefits for clients and provide comprehensive legal analysis.
• Gather additional evidence to support client claims and counter the prosecution's charges.
• Prepare clients for depositions, developing case strategies, and working with witnesses and expert consultants to strengthen the client’s position.

Requirements

• Proven experience handling complex criminal cases at the federal, state, and local levels.
• A collaborative mindset with the ability to work closely with fellow associates and legal assistants.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain positive client relationships.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred but not required.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Admitted to the state bar and in good standing with the relevant jurisdiction (California).
