A law firm in Richmond is seeking a highly qualified Consumer Financial Services Associate Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional academic and professional credentials, strong research and writing abilities, and a solid understanding of consumer financial services law. This role requires membership in good standing with the Virginia Bar and offers the opportunity to work on a variety of litigation matters within the field of consumer financial services.

 

Duties:

  • Represent clients in consumer financial services litigation matters, including disputes related to lending, banking, credit reporting, and consumer protection laws.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to develop case strategies and provide sound legal advice to clients.
  • Draft and prepare pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
  • Manage discovery processes, including document production, depositions, and interrogatories.
  • Advocate for clients in court hearings, trials, arbitrations, and alternative dispute resolution proceedings.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and partners to develop and execute case strategies.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients to provide updates on case progress and address any concerns.
  • Stay informed about developments in consumer financial services law and regulations.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed to practice law in Virginia and in good standing with the Virginia Bar.
  • 3-6 years of litigation experience, preferably with a focus on consumer financial services matters.
  • Strong research and writing abilities, with the capacity to analyze complex legal issues.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, colleagues, and adversaries.
  • Clerkship experience is strongly preferred.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

Active license to practice law in Virginia.
