Associate Attorney with 1-5 years of experience, preferably in family law

A law firm in Littleton, CO, is seeking an Associate Attorney with 1-5 years of experience, preferably in family law. The Associate Attorney will play a crucial role in drafting legal documents, representing clients in court, negotiating settlements, providing legal advice, and collaborating with senior attorneys on complex cases.

Job Duties:

• Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, contracts, and agreements.
• Represent clients in various court proceedings, including hearings and trials.
• Communicate directly with clients, advising them on legal matters and providing updates on case developments.
• Negotiate settlements and resolutions on behalf of clients.
• Stay informed about changes in the law, legal trends, and court rulings.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys on complex litigation and legal strategies.
• Conduct legal research and prepare legal opinions and memoranda.

Requirements:

• JD from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the Colorado State Bar (or ability to waive in) and in good standing.
• 1-5 years of experience practicing law, preferably with a focus on family law.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Demonstrated desire to litigate and work directly with clients.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in family law, including divorce, child custody, support, and domestic relations.
• Knowledge of Colorado court procedures and rules.
• Proficiency in legal research tools and software.
